For Tyeth’s Review of 2021 and Here’s to Something New in 2022!

We’re into the final stretch, the last three months. The time we can relax and enjoy the holidays and now New Year’s celebrations…..WRONG! This site still has some crazy times to relive….here’s out of this world October!

October:

October is unbelievable…first I design and build myself a new condo out of Lego for me to live in and park my Interceptor…and it’s a good job I included extra rooms as the Tyeth family expanded! I was fortunate enough to win a Giveaway held by a great member of the lightsaber community and YouTuber, Darth Rage of Darth Rage Reviews. His YT channel was hitting some high subscriber figures and to celebrate he held a prize Giveaway – to have a chance of winning you just had to like, subscribe and comment on his video. I did as I wanted to support his channel and my name was drawn at random and I won a talking Babu Frik plush toy (Babu is awesome and cute! btw). Rage went above and beyond to make sure Babu arrived in the UK and he even sent a suprise extra gift of a Darth Vader wallet/billfold! I then designed a few FT Original sabers with interchangeable electronic modules and a hilt for Cara Dune from the Mandalorian show…then if that wasn’t enough excitement…I bought a new real life lightsaber. I purchased a Xenopixel V2 “IOTA” model lightsaber from Padawan’s Outpost in the UK and it is incredible. Multiple sets of sounds, multiple blade colours, animated blade so the light scrolls up and down like in the movies…and it’s updateable with new features, sounds and effects!

What a month! As you can see Babu was adorable and his eyes “follow” you around the room, they’re so realistic. He also took a liking to my sabers…but more on that later!

I’d just like to leave a couple of inks here to Darth Rage’s social media and YouTube sites as thanks again for his kindness – please take a moment or two to go check the sites out, he has great Star Wars content and is a big cosplay fan.

Now onto November…you just won’t believe this month!

November:

You wouldn’t have thought anything could top or equal the events of October, but they did! The Force seemed to be in my favour and again I was the fortunate winner of another giveaway – this time winning a new saber from Lord Nitro of the Sabers Crucible! In design work I created a Lego model of the scene in The Phantom Menace location of Theed City – I built the courtyard where Qui-Gon and Kenobi rescue the Queen of Naboo from the Trade Federation droids. Back in Blender3D I used an add-on function to create a spaceship design for me to wander the galaxy in and I built Babu a lightsaber of his own so he didn’t play with my collection.

The Theed City scene was my own creation but I did import the model of the floating tank. Babu liked his saber as I cleverly combined his welding torch into the lightsaber so he has a saber and torch combo! It must have worked as he no longer messes with my real hilts. And as you can see Lord Nitro sent me a shiny new green bladed lightsaber as my “prize” in his giveaway. Lord Nitro tests custom lightsabers from various manufacturers to the point of destruction to see how durable each saber is and sometimes a saber will withstand the damage tests and become a “Champion of the Crucible”. Lord Nitro like Darth Rage is a Champion of the community and I’d again like to leave a link to his YouTube channel, Sabers Crucible, for you to check out if you would. Please leave a like, comment and if you enjoy what Lord Nitro does then maybe subscribe to hep him create more great videos!

  1. Inspired post, FT! The galleries are fun to peruse. I feel like 2021 saw the most Variety of FT creation yet. You have transposed your saber design skills to model vehicles, structures, microphones and such, which is very exciting. Cheers to another year of fantastic artistry my friend🍻🙂 I can’t wait to see your 2022 manifestations.

    1. Hello EF and may I wish you and your folks a Happy New Year, I hope it’s bigger and better than last year!
2021 certainly expanded my portfolio as you say. I think I may have been on verge of becoming “stale” and about to suffer designer’s block but because of lockdowns and restrictions I was nudged to explore other avenues and hobbies that I might have never considered and that led to new inspiration. Nerf blasters, Lego and even Cosplaying…I never thought I’d ever be so extrovert! Here’s to a productive 2022 for us both. Thanks for your support and friendship.

      1. We sure are lucky to have our creativity during lockdowns. But we still need the real world. I fear extraverting, but it’s essential to my creativity – Like the Kyber crystal for a lightsaber – you have to go out and harvest it. The crystal is a real-world experience. Take the experience back to your studio and the construction can begin. It’s awesome that you nurture your extraverted side by interacting with other creators and cosplay and stuff like that. And you do incorporate that into your designs.

    1. Hello there TVTA, I know you said you were going to be busy during the holidays but I really hope you got a day or two o share with the family. It is weird that a Pandemic turned out to be a stimulus to me branching out to new areas of the Star Wars hobby/culture – but it has been fun also. In fact I may be partaking in some “arms deals” to get more Nerf blasters which I hope to modify this year (now getting out and about to buy parts is a little easier!). But that will have to wait till after my booster jab tomorrow🤔. Anyhoo, I really hope you also have a great 2022 and I look forward to more of your Six Sentence Stories (like what’s happening with Thomas now?…oh the suspense…).

      1. Cheers FT. I manged to have a nice meal Christmas Eve and New Years Eve but other than that it was 13 hour shifts. I had 2 days off in between when I went surprise record shopping (see my newest post).
Yeah, it was good you branched out during the pandemic, but still had that keen eye on all things Star Wars (as we must do, ay? 😎).
Yikes, I too have my booster jab incoming… good luck.

  2. Happy New Year!
Wow, you sure put a lot into this post. Excellent!
Almost took a year to read it. YOU KNOW I”M KIDDING! 😂
    Effin Covid.
We are in another lock down…stage 2.
Looking forward to what you come up with this year.
    Take care!

    1. Hello Resa and Happy New Year to you also! Thanks so much and I’m glad you enjoyed the marathon post. I found that somewhere in the mess of 2021 I had actually accomplished quite a bit – and I was pleasantly surprised.
Sorry to hear about the restrictions thrown up in your neighbourhood, I just had my third dose of vaccine and just received a PCR test kit from the “Government” for when I get symptoms of Covid. That I have to say is some confidence by the Gov to say I WILL get the virus rather than “Oh we just sent you this in case you need one…hopefully you don’t!” It’s almost as if they’ve given up on battling it. Oh well.
Thanks again and I will strive to keep up the good work this year!
