Citadel Lightsaber – A Savannah95 Design

Hello Everybody, welcome to the future on a planet far off in the distance! I promised that the sabers would be better than my last offering (Mancunian Blue Lightsaber) and while it’s not one of mine it is beautiful. This is the next design from the talented Savannah95 and it has a futuristic, architectural look to it. I love this design, so much so I was inspired to edit the above image (from a site called walldevil.com) to use as the header title. I am pleased to have the honour of presenting Savannah95’s….Citadel Lightsaber…

When I first saw this design and was told the name for it I could imagine it nestled in the skyline of a Megacity like Coruscant (btw did you spot the saber in the header picture? 😀 ) A new trend nowadays is to have searchlights situated on the roofs of buildings pointing upwards to the stars and this saber has a gorgeous Cyan coloured blade to replicate such a searchlight. That blade also projects from an emitter that is elegant and simple but ever so effective (I have used it a few times in some of my designs). The three elongated windows allow some more of the Cyan colour to escape and reinforces the image of a building’s penthouse apartment windows….maybe Padme is looking out of one in the hope of seeing Anakin! The switch section is ribbed, reminding me of the grilles and panelling of modern skyscrapers. The body section also has long elongated grooves and in my mind I just saw Turbolifts travelling up and down them.  The Pommel has neat triangular details like arched doorways to the foyer of a building complex.

I think I might enjoy living in one of these tower blocks! And I hope you liked this beautiful piece of engineering. I’d like to thank Savannah95 for allowing me to share her sabers with you, and I’ll let you in on a little secret…this was one of her first designs IIRC! I also want to thank all of my viewers and followers (including the Anonymouswriter ones!) I have seen on my statistics dashboard I have had visits from folks as far away as Malaysia and the Philippenes, and you are all welcome! Please call back to see more new designs in future posts. Till next time.

Mancunian Blue Lightsaber – Manchester City tribute saber

Hello Everybody, Finally I have managed to complete a gallery of images for the promised Manchester City Football Club hilt! However it hasn’t been without a struggle and to be honest I am not 100% happy with the pictures. I like the design itself, it is just the images from the Online builder aren’t high definition which makes editing them a pain. As you zoom in or out the edges get fuzzy as the image tries to remain smooth looking. Well enough of my complaining, I will post the pictures now and let you see what I mean. Here is the design I call Mancunian Blue…

The emitter I chose to represent the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City’s home. I saw the stadium recently (and Old Trafford home of Man United 😀 !) on a trip to Liverpool. The emitter has sweeping edges just like the roofline of the Etihad. The blue powder coat is the closest shade to City’s sky blue uniform/kits, at least the white matches their shorts.

This post is going to be shorter than normal again so I can go and work on some new designs to make up for this one. For some reason it just didn’t want to work out, but at least it was a learning process for me. Through my efforts I have discovered a few new things I want to try out. I will have to experiment a little first just to see if  my ideas work. In the meantime I have some martial arts reptile themed hilts to present to you all.

I would like to thank you for your visit today and hope you’ll return to see some new stuff in upcoming posts. I’ll also work on some Guest Galleries. Till next time.

(P.S. And the new ones won’t be as bad as this one ^^ Honest!)

Oranje Moed Lichtzwaard – Orange Courage Lightsaber

Hello Everybody, I am very upset today as for the first time I have failed to deliver! Unfortunately while painting the Manchester City tribute hilt I realized I had made a mistake with the pictures and couldn’t repair the damage I’d done. I had already combined all the frames into single images and couldn’t UNDO the process. This meant I had to get the original images and start again, then the SECOND problem hit me. I backed up the images on my Tablet PC…and just when I needed it the tablet malfunctions and I can’t even turn the thing on anymore (they call this the “Brick” syndrome that affects Androids). I am absolutely devastated and if the laptop I am using to type this out fails me I will be without any means to continue this site 😦 .

To try and make up for this disappointment I do have a replacement design I have made over the past two days in recognition of a gentleman I have met from The Netherlands but lives in Norway. He has visited this site recently and was very complimentary about my work, so I wanted to create a little something for him in way of thanks. This design is called, Oranje Moed Lichtzwaard…

Hopefully you can see what I have done here! I was inspired again by my friend =Ottomatix=’s Irish flag Saberstaff, Slainte, and thought how could I create a National flag saber with a single hilt. The answer came in the use of an emitter and body section that has three spines and the emitter also has three defined rings. These spines and rings were perfect to paint the triband colours of the Dutch National Flag onto. The pommel is painted in a colour which is very close to the Bright Vermilion of the flag (and very close to the orange of the national football team!). The name for the saber comes from the Dutch words for the national colour Orange and the word for Courage.

All Jedi have to be courageous, as will I to continue this site but rest assured I will do my best and I WILL get that Manchester City hilt uploaded (I just have to start over again). Anyway it is time for me to part company and get on with that hilt but I want to thank my new friend(s) for visiting and all of you my regular viewers and followers for all the support. And if the Force wills it I will see you all next time.

Beacon Lightsaber – A Lantern Saber

Hello Everybody, some of you may recall me saying I needed to do more spring cleaning in my workshop, well today I ventured to the deep, dark corners of my facility to sweep it out. It was sooo dark I needed a torch to give me light to see what I was doing (my saber was charging up 😀 ). One problem, I couldn’t find a torch but I did find a Green Lantern themed saber! It is amazing what turns up when you dig deep enough, so while I finish my Sports hilts here is my design for Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern…this is Beacon Lightsaber…

Hal Jordan, a reckless test pilot, is the latest recruit to become the fabled Green Lantern. He was reluctant at first but the mystical Ring chose him to replace  Abin Sur, the most famous Green Lantern up till now. The Green Lantern Corps had existed for centuries so I wondered what a ceremonial (light) saber may look like for the peacekeeping heroes. This was the result. The windowed emitter helps to give the impression of a lantern with the golden blade blazing out. If you look at the section of the hilt where the switches are, the silhouette between the two gold bands looks similar to the actual Green Lantern lamp and his logo. The hilt wears a powder coat of Lantern Corps Green paint, which is very nearly the exact same shade (and who would have thought Green was so popular!) This saber I hope is worthy of consideration, should the Lantern Corps decide to upgrade their equipment.

Hal may be the last great green hope to save the Universe and just maybe, my saber could help. I hope you liked my tribute to this superhero, I felt it was about time I did a D.C. Comics character hilt. As always thank you to all the viewers and followers of myself and FTSabersite, it really does mean a lot that you come back to see more new designs. This also includes newer viewers from India, Brazil, Belgium and Norway who have called in recently. I will have the Sports themed hilt to show you for my next post (I promise) so…Till next time.

Hunter Lightsaber – Inspired by a Venator

Hello Everybody, I am busy working on the next couple of sabers in the Sports theme series so I am going to have to make this a shorter post than normal. This design is inspired by a hilt I have seen online created by a group of talented people from Belgium called Force Relics (website link). I may be tempted to get one of their hilts (depending on how many Republic Credits I can save) to install the electronics into in the future so I can say I have built my own saber. The saber is called the Venator 2.0 and comes in different colour combinations, but the one that caught my eye is a black hilt with a silver diamond grip pattern on the body. It also has a slanted emitter which I love (my current saber has a slanted emitter as well) but you can unscrew the separate parts to make it easier to put the battery and electronics inside (great for a beginner like me). I won’t make you wait any longer, here is my homage to the Force Relic design, this is Hunter Lightsaber…

I attempted to create a design that had the same essence as the Venator but using the parts available to me in the online builder. I really like the black highlighted with the silver accents. My design has a choke point to make spinning the saber easier (and to prevent the hilt slipping from your grip). Here is a picture of  the Force Relics hilt so you can see the inspiration.Force Relic Venator

I hope you will check out Force Relics and their creations, they make some really nice hilts. And I would like to thank all of you for checking out this design and sorry the “powder coat” sabers take so long to post. I have to repaint the gallery pictures using multiple layers  which means I have to paint 24 Frames for each gallery, and one frame can take 2 hours to edit  😦 !. However in-between all this painting I am still working on new designs, so please call in to see what’s in store! Till next time.

Merseyside Blue Lightsaber – Everton FC’s new saber

Hello Everybody, straight from the paint shop I bring to you the next in my Sports themed sabers series. As promised I have to be fair and have designed a hilt for Liverpool’s blue half of the city and Everton FC football club. Founded in 1878 as St.Domingo’s, a church based team so the people of the area could play sports all year round (they played cricket during the summer!) After a disagreement over the rent for using Anfield Stadium, Everton moved to Goodison Park and adopted the name Everton FC in 1879. So from adversity a new team was born and they hold the record for the most seasons played in the top flight of the Football League (114 seasons) so in recognition of that feat here is my tribute saber, Merseyside Blue…

I was very fortunate, one of the powder coat colours matched perfectly with Everton’s signature colour so I tried to recreate the team’s logo on the hilt. I used an emitter that had a turret like blade socket but which also had what is called a Grenade grip. The Grenade grip is the rectangular blocks and I painted a white spiral line around the hilt on those blocks to recreate the staircase on the tower seen in the badge. The hilt is topped and tailed with a white blade and pommel.

The tower seen above is Prince Rupert’s Tower which is a  local landmark in the suburb of Walton in Liverpool, and is shown on the team crest. Everton FC have an equally long history as their neighbours Liverpool FC and now they too have a For Tyeth Edition! I hope their fans approve of my efforts and you my viewers enjoyed this design. As I mentioned before I now have to produce a saber for Manchester United’s neighbours and rivals Manchester City so I’d like to invite you to return and see that one in an upcoming post. For now thanks for the support. Till next time.

“Everton FC”, the team crest and all related names, logos and materials are Trademark/©Copyright of Everton Football Club, who play in the English Premier League. “Merseyside Blue” is a “For Tyeth Edition” and along with this site and materials are ©Copyright of For Tyeth/FTSabersite 2017.

Spirit Seeker Lightsaber – A saber for Mr Jeter

Hello Everybody, I have discovered that painting saber hilts takes a long time, so while I finish off some of my sports themed hilts I have a Sports Entertainment hilt to show you all. Now I have created a few hilts in tribute to wrestlers past and present, but this is the first one that I have had the privilege of presenting the design to the wrestler concerned! The wrestler is a gentleman called Johnny Jeter, who has performed for various wrestling companies including Ohio Valley Wrestling and the WWe. You may have seen Mr Jeter on WWe shows where he was a member of the fantastic tag team faction, the Spirit Squad! It turns out that Mr Jeter is also a big Star Wars and lightsaber fan. How do I know this? Well Johnny decided to buy a saber and to get better informed he joined the forum of which I am a member. I had the pleasure of welcoming him to the forum and I decided to design a saber for him. This is that saber, I call this design…Spirit Seeker…

I originally named this saber Spirit but changed the name so I could use Spirit for my Medwyn Elements series. Now the name is a combination of “Spirit” from the Spirit Squad and “Seeker” as Johnny wrestled as “Thrillseeker” for Ohio Valley Wrestling. The saber has elements to represent Johnny’s career, starting with the clawed emitter which reminds me of a wrestling ring with the claws acting as the corner posts. The switch section comes from a Saberforge model called the Gladius, and I chose this part to represent the fighter/wrestler/combatant. The body grip leather and the blade are Green which together with the silvery white metal match the colour scheme of the (in)famous Spirit Squad track suit wrestling attire. The pommel is a personal touch, it is a replica from an Obi-Wan Kenobi saber as Obi-Wan is Johnny’s favourite Jedi (apart from me of course 😀 !).

You will see from the above pictures that the Spirit Squad have Championship belts, well those are the World Tag-Team Championship belts. This means that I have exchanged correspondence with a Champion! In those exchanges I sent him the details for this design as a way of saying thank you for the hours of entertainment he gave me while risking his health to do so.

I am nearing the final bell on this post as I need to get back to producing the Sports themed hilts I promised (they are taking a bit longer than expected but I hope the effort will be worth it). I want to thank you all for visiting today and supporting FTSabersite, it is appreciated. I have discovered that viewers from as far away as Malaysia and Indonesia, Australia and Brazil have checked my site out, so thanks to you and I hope you will return for future posts. Till next time.

Merseyside Red Lightsaber – A Liverpool Lightsaber

Hello Everybody, today I take you back to my Sports Series of sabers with a hilt for one of the teams that hail from Liverpool. Yes I am presenting a design for Liverpool FC, the team from the city  it takes it’s name from. The team was formed as a result of a disagreement between the Everton committee and John Houlding the club’s president and owner of the area of land known as Anfield. The team played for eight years until the Everton committee parted company from John Houlding and relocated to another stadium named Goodison Park. The team which was to become Liverpool were originally called Everton FC and Athletic Grounds Ltd (Everton Athletic for short!) but due to the club’s split, the Football Association wouldn’t recognise the team with that name so Liverpool FC was created, taking the name of the home city. Ok now onto the saber, this is Merseyside Red…

I am quite pleased with this hilt, even if I am a Manchester United fan! However in the post for Mancunian RED Lightsaber I mentioned the Munich Air Disaster, well Liverpool FC has suffered tragedy also including the 1985 Heysel Stadium Disaster and then the incident known as Hillsborough where 96 Liverpool fans died in an overcrowded stadium stand. As a result Manchester United and Liverpool have become closely linked through mourning, even though on the pitch they are fierce rivals. The details on the saber include the all red coloured powder coat to represent the team’s kit, introduced by the great manager Bill Shankly. Mr Shankly is a legend and has a set of gates (in the picture below) at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium named after him. These are very ornate and I tried to recreate this elegance with the stylish hilt body. The pommel and claws are coated in gold to reflect the team logo of a Liver Bird, the emblem of the city of Liverpool. Also if you compare the claws to the team badge, they look a little bit like the Liver Bird’s wings.

I hope the fans of Liverpool FC approve of my homage to their team (and city). And I hope you too have enjoyed this design. It has been brought to my attention that to be fair I need to create designs for Everton FC, Liverpool’s neighbours and also for Manchester City FC the rivals to Manchester United. This means I have a few more designs to come up with so please call back to see those in upcoming posts. Thanks for your visit today, it’s great to have your company. Till next time.

Liverpool FC is Trademark/©Copyright of Liverpool Football Club who play in the English Premier League. Merseyside Red is a For Tyeth Edition design and is ©Copyright of For Tyeth/FTSabersite 2017.

Finalizer Lightsaber – Inspired by kylo Ren’s Star Destroyer

Hello Everybody, as you can see after my post yesterday not only are my sabers popular but it seems that Kylo and The First Order want some. So much so that they have sent one of the most impressive Star Destroyers ever built after me…Oh wait a minute…sorry it’s just my new saber design inspired by that spaceship, The Finalizer. This ship is twice the length of an Imperial-era destroyer and has much better weaponry utilising Kyber Crystals. This means that the turbolasers are more powerful and are quicker to recharge. Not only that but this ship packs two full combat wings of Tie-Fighters, assault craft and can carry 8000 Stormtroopers! My design is going to have to be just as impressive, I hope it is but as always you can decide, Here is my Finalizer…

I used the clawed emitter to represent the “bow” of the Finalizer inspired by it’s silhouette as it flies past the planet. Emitting from the bow is a powerful Kyber Crystal powered blade, which is of course red due to Disney’s new Canon explanation of blade colours! The switch section has two cutaways (the L-shaped parts) which remind me of the hangar bays to house the Tie-Fighters. The ribs and grooves of the hilt’s body section form the numerous weapon bays and hatches where those pesky turbolasers and ventral cannons are positioned. Finally for the Finalizer saber is an FTE pommel to create the illusion that it has an Ion engine, which is why I left off the end cap plug this time!

Finalizer Silhouette Sml
Oh no! The First Order are after my sabers!

The above picture was the one that inspired me to design this saber. I hope that you liked it. Thankfully the ship isn’t really after me (though I think I could handle it 😀 ) I believe that it will be on it’s way to wherever Supreme Leader Snoke is! I am near the end of this post, but as always I want to thank you all for visiting today and would like to invite you to return to see more new designs in future. If you liked what you have seen on this site then please spread the word about FTSabersite to your friends. Till next time.

Guavian Death Lightsaber – A weapon for the underworld gang

Hello Everybody, we venture back into the Star Wars universe and the world of the Underworld Gangs! Thirty years after the fall of the Galactic Empire (30yrs after Battle of Endor) the vacuum of lawlessness was filled by gangs such as the two that boarded Han Solo’s ship the Eravana. Probably the most striking of these were the Guavian Death Gang, and their negotiator Bala-Tik. You will remember the red armoured mercenaries with the faceless helmets and masks. These individuals were deadly soldiers who swore allegiance to the Gang and in return were augmented with black market, high-tech hardware including chemical enhancements. Because of their use of tech I wondered what a For Tyeth Edition lightsaber might look like had they been bought and sold on the black market and used by the Guavians, here is the result…

Guavian Foot Soldier Sml 2
Image from Toyark.com

The Guavian Death Squad enforcers wore high impact red armour and helmets (of which the masks contained communication devices) and so I gave this saber a matching coat of  red and black. The emitter has the look of the helmet with a dark black inlay to represent the faceless feature of the mask. Below the emitter there is another black segment to give the impression of the pauldrons worn on their shoulders. Further reinforcement of the image is the ribbed body section and pommel I chose to replicate the foot soldier’s footwear and shin pads. I think that the Gang would probably want to get their hands on some of these sabers. Fortunately I don’t supply the Underworld, I’m a reputable designer!Guavian Vertical Up Bala-Tik

Sorry I just had to paraphrase the film there! I am going to have to end this post shortly and make my getaway as I have more designs to come up with! Before I make the jump to hyperspace I’d like to take the opportunity to say thank you for visiting today. I appreciate your continued support of this site and hope you’ll return to see more of my future posts. Till next time.
